I can see they are violets and very well painted. Not sure about the busy background...to me it spoils the picture.

IMO:With flowers so beautiful I would prefer to focus on the tranquility of the violets.

It is your expression and you always have a air of drama..I can see it is a original Dora Stork.

Miss Dora, what is your secret for such profuse violets? Do you really have a plant with that many blooms? Mine (in the kitchen window) are so stingy. Maybe one bloom at a time! Maybe the background is the special secret life force your plant has!!

Thanks for your kind comments and the reviews, councils. The man learns from the reviews and councils. I wanted exciting background for the flowers though, may be this, that a small one a lot. I do not know it now, I think it over then.

Faith, the violets are in the chinese and not in a flowerpot. I believed it shows. At us anyway the violets bloom secondly this year, not in the window, but in the garden. Can I keep violets in the window?

Have a nice weekend

Wonderful flowers, Dora. You are lucky to have violets blooming twice a year. As to the background I do not think it is too busy, I think it is something with the colours. I like the red one and the turquise blue, but the light brown should have been more yellow or ???? This is just my opinion; I love the painting - you are so good at painting flowers.

Hugs Ingrid
